LITERASI DIGITAL DAN KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR KRITIS MAHASISWA DALAM PEMBELAJARAN BAHASA INGGRIS PADA ERA KECERDASAN BUATAN

The rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has transformed English language learning in higher education, making digital literacy and critical thinking essential competencies for students. This study aims to examine the relationship between digital literacy and students' critical thinking skills in English language learning in the era of artificial intelligence. The study employed a descriptive qualitative literature review by analyzing 20 scholarly articles published between 2021 and 2025. The findings indicate that digital literacy enables students to access, evaluate, and utilize digital information effectively, while critical thinking helps them analyze and verify information, including AI-generated content. The integration of AI into English language learning offers significant opportunities to enhance learning quality when supported by appropriate instructional strategies and responsible use. Therefore, strengthening digital literacy and critical thinking should become an integral part of English language learning in higher education to prepare students for the challenges of the digital era.
